College Hockey Blogflash (July 30)

● According to the UNH Men’s Hockey blog, continuing on with their series of great “under the radar” sports rivalries, ESPN.com is featuring an article on the great Hockey East rivalry that is Maine v. New Hampshire. Read that article here.

Now for some defensemen defections...

● Let’s Go DU is reporting both an addition and a subtraction from the Denver Pioneers roster. Defensemen Keith Seabrook has decided to forego his collegiate career for the major junior ranks, signing with the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL. Seabrook tallied two goals and 11 assists as a freshman in 2007.

DU did, however, pick up a commitment from Norwegian goaltender Lars Paulgaard from the NAHL’s Southern Minnesota Express. Paulgaard went 30-18 last season with eight shutouts and a .916 save percentage.

Mike McMahon at the Warrior Rink Rat blog reports that defenseman Brock Wilson will be leaving Merrimack for the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL. Read about it here.

● UPDATE: And congratulations to Goon’s World’s “Goon,” and “Goon’s wife,” on the adoption of a new baby girl.
